Electrical Safety Consultant Opportunity

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Consultant to join our team in Mississauga, ON. As a key member of our Electrical sales team, you will provide independent advice on engineering, science, and related topics to companies and government organizations.

About the Role

The Electrical Safety Consultant position offers a unique opportunity to work with a variety of electric products, including appliances, consumer electronics, lighting, medical devices, and more. You will assist in providing more efficient services to clients and conduct on and off-site evaluations to determine specific solutions for each customer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and validate national codes and standards
  • Conduct thorough design reviews and document results
  • Supply information for quotes, including project scope and sample requirements
  • Provide specialized expertise in one product category and become a subject matter expert
  • Coordinate and lead client meetings and discussions
  • Provide sales support for product requirements and customer presentations
  • Communicate project status to clients, sales personnel, and management
  • Identify project needs and sample requirements for effective resource planning
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 5+ years of direct experience in fields such as Regulatory and Compliance, Electrical, or Safety
  • Complete understanding of product safety standards, including ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC, and the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats
  • Customer-focused and quality-driven approach
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
