About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented News Producer to join our team at Rogers Communications. As a News Producer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality news content for our broadcast channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and gather news content from various sources
  • Write and edit news scripts to ensure accuracy and clarity
  • Coordinate with news teams across the country to ensure seamless production
  • Assign news stories to reporters and producers
  • Collaborate with supervising producers to ensure show needs are met
  • Locate and secure visuals and materials to support news stories
  • Support and communicate with field teams, including VJs and ENG
  • Contribute to the development of story ideas and pitches
  • Ensure all production elements are complete and accurate before air

Requirements:

  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Passion for local live and breaking news, with strong editorial judgment
