Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Paediatrics/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will provide specialty skills as required for Paediatrics, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Paediatric Outpatients.

Qualifications
  • Current general class registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is required.
  • Current CPR Certification is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience working in a Paediatrics department/with newborns in a Level 2 or 3 nursery or combined care unit is required.
  • Paediatric Advanced Life Support is required.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certificate is required.
  • Preference is given to candidates with successful completion of the Neonatal Intensive Care Course.
  • Preference is given to candidates with a Paediatric oncology course.
  • Experience with Cerner electronic documentation system is an asset.
  • A commitment to providing high quality, individualized patient care is required.
  • The ability to form good working relationships with all members of the healthcare team is required.
  • The ability to make intelligent, independent decisions and initiate appropriate action based on patient-focused best practice guidelines is required.
  • An excellent work performance and attendance record is required.
  • The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to professional development as well as to the Mission and Vision of the Hospital.
