Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our logistics team at RONA Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift to move materials, supplies, and equipment within our warehouse.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move materials and supplies within the warehouse.
  • Perform routine and regular preventative maintenance of the forklift.
  • Complete daily inspection sheets and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Prepare orders for delivery, including identifying, locating, and securing materials as per shipping memos.
  • Build and arrange customer orders and loads onto vehicles, considering safety and security of the load, minimizing potential for damage in transport, and routing of the vehicle.
  • Receive returned materials, complete sold stickers for re-delivery, or return materials to stock as directed.
  • Check prepared loads for accuracy and completeness, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Act as a driver's helper as required, assisting the driver with manual unloading and transporting materials.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • A valid forklift certificate is required.
  • Prior shipping, receiving, and loading experience is an asset.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines is essential.
  • Physical exertion, including bending, lifting, and carrying products, is a requirement of this position.
  • Experience with handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet trucks, and carts is an asset.
