About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Internal Business Development Associate to join our team. As a key member of our Residential Lending department, you'll be responsible for developing new business opportunities and achieving stated goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute effective business development strategies to drive portfolio growth and maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to leverage cross-departmental sales opportunities and build strong relationships with brokers and partners.
  • Partner with Residential Lending Operations to support and service partners within assigned territories.
  • Analyze and identify opportunities using reports to support growth and make data-driven decisions.
  • Support Residential Lending Operations in following up on outstanding commitments and resolving escalations.
  • Develop and foster broker and partner relationships while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and service standards.
  • Balance strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with meeting performance targets and maintaining effective internal and external relationships.
  • Participate in business development events, tradeshows, and presentations as required.
  • Contribute to the update of existing and creation of new broker communications, including collateral materials, email content, and innovative promotions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the competition, industry trends, and market conditions.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and adherence to compliance and operational risk controls.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in alternative lending.
  • Post-secondary education preferred.
  • Proven track record in meeting and exceeding established sales targets.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of loan types and risk factors.
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace applications and familiarity with the internet and related tools.
  • Demonstrates strong negotiation, planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Solid written and verbal business communication skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting stringent deadlines.
  • Tactful, diplomatic, and politely persistent.
  • Results-oriented and a high achiever.
  • Reliable, consistent, and disciplined.
  • Highest level of integrity.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and capable of working independently and in a team environment.
  • Bring a positive, can-do attitude to our organization.
