About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Psychiatric Worker to join the team at Joseph & Rosalie Segal & Family Health Centre in Vancouver, BC.
As a Psychiatric Worker, you will work under the direction of the Charge Nurse to provide psychiatric assessment and therapeutic care to clients with mental health needs.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and revision of client care plans.
- Participate in ward rounds and meetings to ensure client safety.
- Conduct observation rounds, record client behaviors, and identify the need for intervention.
About the Service
The Segal Psychiatric Inpatient Units are located on Levels 5 to 8 in the Joseph & Rosalie Segal & Family Health Centre at Vancouver General Hospital.
The units provide assessment and treatment to adults who require acute 24-hour management in a hospital setting.
The length of stay is approximately five to 12 days.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Graduation from a recognized degree program in Behavioural Science plus one year's recent, related experience.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
