Job Description

As a Nurse Education Specialist at Blanche River Health, you will play a vital role in providing clinical training and mentorship to newly graduated nurses, internationally educated nurses (IENs), nurses in supervised practice status, and nurses looking to upskill. You will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement educational programs to enhance knowledge transfer and integration of best practices into daily work.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to nurses in various stages of their careers.
  • Promote a supportive environment that encourages continuous quality improvement in clinical practice.

Requirements

  • RN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Certification in telemetry training required.
  • Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.
  • Certification in Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) an asset.
  • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI) an asset.
  • Completion of 12 lead ECG and cardiac rhythm interpretation certification required.

Compensation and Benefits

The rate of pay ranges from $37.93 to $54.37 per hour, as per the ONA Collective Agreement. Eligibility to enroll in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). Percent in lieu of benefits and vacation percentage paid out bi-weekly, up to 18%, as per the ONA Collective Agreement.
