AML Advisory Director

Job Overview:

We're seeking an experienced AML Advisory Director to join our team in Melville, New York; McLean, Virginia; Richmond, Virginia; New York, New York. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that our commercial banking operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, with at least 5 years of experience in either AML, legal, or general regulatory compliance. They will be responsible for driving quality results, providing compliance advice to lines of business, and executing corporate processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide input on business regulatory requirements
2. Offer guidance on business policies, standards, and procedures
3. Develop and lead department training as needed
4. Provide compliance advice on complex projects
5. Guide controls over regulatory requirements and line of business monitoring of those controls
6. Perform money laundering risk assessment reviews
7. Influence business stakeholders to ensure AML requirements are addressed within the line of business
8. Support the Capital One Commercial sub-lines of business

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Exceptional problem-solving and conceptual skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional negotiation and leadership skills
• Willingness to pursue compliance certifications if not already certified

Autonomy and Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role will work independently with supervisory guidance as needed and have the ability to set direction, manage expectations, and lead cross-functional teams.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
