Career Overview
This is an assistant position supporting the Manager of Commercial Administration and our team of Underwriters. The individual will be focused on our specialty lines products and be responsible for file maintenance, processing of insurance documentation, invoicing, and other administrative tasks.
Job Responsibilities
- Set up new/renewal accounts, attaching correspondence, creating/monitoring activities.
- Issue new & renewal policies, endorsements & cancellations.
- Own the insurance renewal program processing.
- Identify submissions by lines of business using provided workflows.
- Become familiar with specialty product wordings.
- Correspond with internal and external partners on account status or follow up with partners for documentation.
- Invoice transactions and correct discrepancies and portal entry issues as required.
- Enter and report document transactions on monthly bordereaux.
- Use reports to generate bordereaux and renewal lists and ad hoc queries.
- Prepare extensions of coverage for internal/external referral.
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have 2 years of experience in an underwriting assistance role and be an Insurance Program Graduate. They should be highly organized, with a focus on attention to detail, accuracy, and time management. Additionally, they should be able to problem-solve proactively, possess strong written and oral communication skills, and be excellent at building interpersonal relationships.
The successful candidate should also have system experience with MS Office, Applied Epic, Policy Works, Online Portals, and Lineage.
