We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Dean Davidson. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing all aspects of financial reporting, payroll processing, tax compliance, and overseeing finance-related processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Management: Oversee and manage the entire payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursements; prepare payroll on a bi-weekly basis, and prepare ROEs as required; maintain payroll records, process source deductions and payroll taxes, and ensure compliance with employment standards and tax regulations;
  • Financial Management: Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis; prepare cash flow forecast reports on a weekly basis and communicate with senior management; prepare bi-weekly payment runs for all outstanding vendor invoices; manage the integration of accounts receivable portals (Shopify, Cin7) with QuickBooks Online; process Accounts Receivable deposits and associated reconciliations on a regular basis; perform month-end closing procedures on a regular basis;
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports; ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and in compliance with accounting standards and regulations; provide management with insightful analysis and recommendations based on financial data;
  • Tax Filings and Compliance: Manage tax filings, including GST, US Taxes and duties, and other government tax filings; ensure compliance with all local, provincial and federal tax regulations; coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure proper documentation and adherence to tax regulations;
  • Finance Process Management: Develop, implement, and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure process efficiency; identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in the finance department; support budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with the CFO and senior management to set financial targets;
  • Audit and Risk Management: Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements; identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks;
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and marketing, to provide financial guidance and support business decisions; mentor and guide bookkeeper, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field;
  • CPA designation, candidates pursuing CPA will also be considered;
  • 5+ years of experience in a related role, preferably within the luxury retail or jewelry industry;
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and expertise with MS Office Suite;
  • Well-versed with RBC Express, banking platform;
  • Strong technical skills with systems like CIN7, LOOP, Shopify;
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving abilities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Benefits

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position located in Toronto's trendy Corktown neighborhood with easy access by transit. Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
