Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our team at Specialty Air. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
  • Operate laser cutters and plasma cutters
  • Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
  • Schedule work and inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification
  • Develop computerized pattern and layout
  • Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand
  • Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
Requirements
  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification
  • Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification
  • Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
