Technical Project Lead for Advanced Engineering Solutions

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Lead to join our Customer Excellence team at Ansys. In this role, you will be responsible for leading complex projects and partnering with customers to engineer innovative solutions.

Job Description:

  • Lead the scoping and planning of key projects, ensuring successful execution against established commitments.
  • Serve as the central focal point of contact, coordinating and managing internal and external communication across cross-functional teams.
  • Guide complex Services engagements to successful outcomes using project management experience, planning and negotiation skills, subject matter expertise, and industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goal, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Develop and manage project and program-level initiatives, coordinating project plans.
  • Manage and track project resource allocations, timelines, and deliverables across multiple interconnected workstreams.
  • Identify and manage project risk, escalating and interacting with ANSYS and customer management for status and issue resolution.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on customers' advanced technical solution project planning.
  • Participate in the development of PMO standards and processes.
  • Mentor junior project managers.
  • Organize and manage multiple complex projects.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in an engineering software environment (BS+8, MS+6, or PhD+3).
  • Proven experience in project management or complex project management with multiple workstreams.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead status presentations to customers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a sense of urgency.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • The position will support United States-based projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6 years of experience in project management with an enterprise software and technology deployment focus.
  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers' senior business managers.
