Your Opportunity at Secure Energy

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatch Coordinator to join our team in the Fort McMurray Oilsands region. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the transportation of bins to and from customer locations with our drivers.

A Day in the Life

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving and recording customer calls
  • Inputting customer details to generate work order packages
  • Utilizing multiple electronic platforms to complete daily tasks
  • Scheduling and dispatching drivers
  • Assisting in the processing of completed work orders
  • Overseeing driver pickup and delivery
  • Providing exceptional customer service and maintaining positive relationships with clients and employees
  • Setting up and maintaining project folders
  • Additional responsibilities may include equipment maintenance scheduling, assisting management and drivers with scheduling truck, trailer, and bin maintenance, and performing yard and shop duties.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a dispatch and/or project coordinator function
  • Post-secondary education in logistics, transportation, and/or business, or equivalent training and/or on-the-job experience
  • Experience or knowledge of the waste industry
  • A CDL driver's license (Class 1 or 3) is preferred
  • Knowledge of local roads and highways, dangerous goods routes, and road bans
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize projects and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service focus, with effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze information and resolve problems quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal effectively with individuals at all organization levels
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • High attention to detail, with demonstrated accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Team-oriented and dedicated to helping the team achieve its goals
