Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Steward to join our team at Autograph Collection/Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain the sanitation and cleanliness of all areas of the dish room, kitchen aisle, and dock area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Break down trays, set up the dish machine, wash dishware, and sort and store all clean china, glass, and silver using proper procedures.
  • Empty trashcans and wash the inside and outside, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Monitor soap consumption and provide details to the Executive Chef to optimize resource allocation.
  • Break down the dish machine and clean the inside and outside, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Operate equipment safely and according to policy, minimizing the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Clean all breakdown tables, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist the Supervisor, Manager, and Lead Line Cook in the total function of the operation, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking by chopping vegetables, grinding meat, extracting juice, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Be involved in the preparation for line service, both hot and cold, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Assure that proper cutting boards, micro clean, and gloves are being used during the shift, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Ensure that all deliveries are put away and rotated, maintaining a well-organized storage area.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen, including sweeping floors and wiping down surfaces, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team.
