About the Role:
The YMCA of Simcoe-Muskoka is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Facilities Maintenance Associate. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our members and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization throughout the facilities, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
- Perform general maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and ceiling tiles, and cleaning vents and tops of lockers.
- Respond to general maintenance requirements and other duties as assigned by supervisor or General Manager.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and night staff to ensure transfer of information necessary for effective facility operations.
- Adhere to all provincial and federal legislation relevant to job description.
- Maintain all Health and Safety requirements/qualifications, including but not limited to WHMIS, Employee Health and Safety, etc.
Requirements:
- Strong practical knowledge of cleaning procedures, standards and practices
- WHMIS Certification
- Physical readiness to work
- Emergency Training
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to work flexible hours based on client needs
