About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at Ovivo in Nunavut. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our water treatment systems, ensuring compliance with local and provincial regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Water Treatment Systems: Monitor and control the operation of our water treatment systems, including the sewage lagoon, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Sampling and Testing: Conduct regular sampling and testing of operational process parameters to ensure the quality of our treated water.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily operations, sampling, and testing results, and prepare regular reports for management and regulatory authorities.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to prevent equipment failures and ensure the continued safe operation of our systems.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with our maintenance and operations teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration to achieve our operational goals.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment, with a strong background in plant operations and maintenance.
  • Certifications: Certified Level I Water Treatment, with additional levels of certification considered an asset.
  • Skills: Excellent process monitoring and control abilities, with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
