Faculty Position Description

The Department of History at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Indigenous History or Canadian History. A specialization in Public History is desirable. The Department seeks candidates who can foster research, teaching, and knowledge dissemination among the Department of History and museums, archives, and heritage organizations. Key Responsibilities

  • Possess a PhD in History or a related discipline, or be close to completing a PhD.
  • Show a strong commitment to scholarship and its dissemination.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Indigenous History or Canadian History.
  • Engage in administrative duties within the Department of History, the Faculty of Arts, and the wider university community.

Departmental Expectations

The Department is particularly interested in candidates who have research interests in Indigenization and decolonization in museums, archives, and heritage organizations, as well as expertise in the public dissemination and preservation of history through museums, exhibits, the internet, and other relevant sites.
