Job Summary:

As a Millwright (Day Shift) at Ventura Foods, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, repair, and performance of production equipment in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safety Standards, SOP's, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of packing and process equipment in food manufacturing.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and provide quick, innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal work, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Conduct PM programs according to standards.
  • Responsible for equipment changeover, set up, take down, and relocation of all packaging equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Recommend solutions to routine and unique equipment problems.
  • Respond to equipment problems in a timely and customer-oriented manner.
  • Integrate all plant, quality, safety, and security policies and guidelines into all day-to-day activities on the job.
  • Perform all other work as assigned by duly authorized supervisors or team leaders.
Requirements:
  • 443A Millwright license or relevant demonstrated experience with both processing and packaging equipment such as homogenizers, process valves, pumps, heat exchangers, rotary fillers, bottle sleevers, etc.
Working Conditions:

Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required tasks. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required.

In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after-hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures, including extreme hot, cold, and humidity. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.
