About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Data Center Architect to join our team at Experis Canada. This is a highly technical role that requires expertise in designing and implementing data center infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop data center infrastructure solutions that align with strategic goals and operational needs.
  • Create plans for server, storage, networking, and virtualization environments.
  • Oversee the implementation and deployment of data center infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and security policies.
  • Conduct capacity planning for scalability and efficiency of data center resources.
  • Optimize existing infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement security measures to protect data center assets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Establish monitoring systems to track data center performance and health.
  • Develop maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to achieve project objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and gather requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of data center architecture and operational procedures.
  • Generate reports on data center performance, capacity utilization, and future growth.
  • Develop roadmaps for the evolution of enterprise technology portfolios.
  • Analyze business context and change requirements to derive ETA change requirements.
  • Align plans with project deliverables in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Define principles and models to guide technology decisions.
  • Ensure all solution architecture work is documented and stored centrally.
  • Advocate principles of business and IT strategies, EA development, and service delivery.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with IT infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Solid knowledge of data center architecture, network integration, and Cloud.
  • Experience in a senior architectural position with diverse stakeholders.
  • Project-level experience in technology implementation and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of trade-off analysis.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technology architecture requirements.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and accessibility requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of financial models, budgeting, and business process re-engineering.
