Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Hauling Professional to join our team at Canada Inc. as a Truck Driver.

About the Role:

  • This is a permanent position requiring 35 hours of work per week.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with driving lighter, special purpose trucks and operating straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • A valid driver's licence and an AZ class license are mandatory for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed.
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform brake adjustments, pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Air Brakes Endorsement.
  • Dangerous Goods Handling Certification.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an asset.
