Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions in Guelph, ON. As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints, performing electrical troubleshooting, and assembling electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Able to visualize and plan the assembly of a part based on wiring schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Perform electrical wiring techniques (stripping, terminating, crimping)
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Electrical and mechanical experience
- Must be mechanically inclined and have demonstrated knowledge/ability to read and interpret schematics/blueprints, shop drawings, manuals, etc.
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision
- Demonstrates a high level of operational understanding of work practices, technology and SRA's
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of area specific equipment
- Learns, understands, and can implement and adhere to all policies, practices and procedures.
- 5+ years of directly related on the job experience - strong sense of urgency, organizational ability and take ownership to help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budgeted hours
Desired
- Experience wiring PLCs and robotics systems will be considered an asset
- Position, install, and secure all sub-components into various pieces of equipment as per appropriate drawings
- Previous experience in custom assembly of water treatment systems
- Operate a wide variety of machinery as part of the manufacturing processes pipe/conduit/tube benders, grinders, drills, etc
- Fabricate, assemble and hydro-test PVC, PP, and PVDF pipe spools
- Perform self-inspection to verify that all components are installed, tested and match applicable drawings and sign QA documentation
