About the Role:

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Discipline Lead to join our LRT team. As a key member of the Technical Services team, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of the Edmonton Valley Line West (EVLW) LRT project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in construction information management protocols, including requests for information, vendor shop drawing submissions, and design reviews.
  • Interface between design and construction teams to manage and resolve issues from inception to closure.
  • Ensure that any deviations are addressed appropriately to maintain the project risk profile and technical compliance with project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively across various teams involved in design, construction, testing, commissioning, and close-out.
  • Identify and manage risks, and ensure good technical governance procedures are followed.
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications, and construction-related processes in the area of specialty.
  • Ability to communicate in all manners (oral, written, technology) and to follow oral and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to prepare detailed written reports.
  • Capable of performing math calculations in order to perform engineering calculations, graphs, and charts.
  • Proficient with computer programs and proprietary engineering software.
  • Able to balance competing tasks and work within a multi-disciplined team.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary.
  • Able to use sound judgment.
  • Requires ability to climb ladders, inspect work above and below ground, work in confined spaces, and negotiate terrain on in-progress construction sites.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, an associate's degree in a technical discipline, or construction-related field.
  • Exposure to or related experience on public infrastructure or transportation projects is preferred, with experience on LRT or rail projects.
  • 0+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of public works contracts, and previous experience with P3 projects is required.
  • Prior experience with concrete construction, rail works, overhead catenary system equipment is preferred.
