Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Trade Compliance Analyst to join our team. This role will develop, implement, manage, and maintain customs compliance procedures to ensure SHEIN adheres to Canadian importing and exporting regulations.
This position requires on-site work at our Markham, ON office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of Canadian trade regulations and provide compliance guidance.
- Interpret trade regulations, assess their impacts, and prepare guidance documents for stakeholders.
- Manage daily customs broker operations by creating and maintaining procedure manuals.
- Review monthly KPIs and recommend improvements to management.
- Assess business risks, consider trade compliance directives, implement controls, and monitor their effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, notification, and record-keeping requirements.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to classify products accurately.
- Act as a subject matter expert on trade compliance directives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, international trade, business, law, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant trade compliance experience in e-commerce, consumer goods, and apparel industries.
- Certified Customs Specialist, Certified Trade Compliance Specialist, or other compliance-related certification is a plus.
- In-depth understanding of the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS classification), General Rules of Interpretation & Advance Ruling process.
- Comprehensive knowledge of customs regulations and government agency requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex legal concepts simply.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
