Job Description

This temporary 2-year position will provide an opportunity for an Indigenous post-secondary graduate to gain valuable experience in community and relationship building, municipal and Indigenous community engagement, and project management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Community & Indigenous Initiatives team to support various initiatives and projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A keen interest in community development and relationship building, including municipal and Indigenous community engagement;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner;
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work well under minimal supervision;
  • Good verbal and written communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence positive change;
  • Understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples;

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be required to commit to a two-year employment placement, fulfill all job requirements, and participate in training opportunities developed by the First Nations Public Service Secretariat.
