What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Audit Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements, providing leadership to a team of auditors. You will evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and corporate governance processes within Group Risk Management. You will gain exposure to RBC businesses and functions and become a leader and subject matter expert on topics of enterprise and operational risk. You will work closely with the Director to monitor and discuss ongoing issues with business leaders.
What will you do?
- Lead the planning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements, providing leadership to a team of auditors.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and corporate governance processes within Group Risk Management.
- Gain exposure to RBC businesses and functions and become a leader and subject matter expert on topics of enterprise and operational risk.
- Work closely with the Director to monitor and discuss ongoing issues with business leaders.
- Use data analytics to identify and ensure adequate coverage of key risks.
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and governance processes to draw conclusions and generate insights.
- Support the Director in ongoing monitoring and discussions with business leaders.
- Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure they get maximum value from our engagement work.
- Effect change by providing input and feedback on management action plans to address identified deficiencies.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Experience leading and motivating teams towards a common objective; project management experience.
- Ability to quickly understand the risks associated with new services and products, and to formulate practical audit procedures to address them.
- Strong knowledge of GRM Operational and Enterprise Risk functions.
- Strong understanding of auditing principles and techniques and excellent project management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to interact with senior business management.
Nice-to-have
- Professional accounting or audit certification.
- Experience working as a contributing team member on a special project.
- Experience in GRM.
