IT Support Specialist

TEAMS Transport is a leading transportation company seeking an experienced IT Help Desk Technician to join our team. Located in Winnipeg, this full-time position offers a competitive salary of $55,000 per year.
The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and support to Teams Transport staff related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Key responsibilities include responding to staff inquiries, running diagnostic programs, isolating problems, and determining solutions with a defined scope of support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers requiring technical assistance via phone or email
- Perform troubleshooting using various diagnostic techniques
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical hardware and/or software issues
- Provide timely resolution and exceptional customer service
- Redirect unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Provide necessary information on IT products or services
- Keep a record of problems and their resolution
- Follow up with customers
- Provide feedback on processes and recommend areas for improvement
- Maintain technical documentation and service catalog on software installation, hardware configuration, and problem troubleshooting
- Suggest improvements on procedures
Requirements:
- Previous working experience as an IT Help Desk Technician for 1 year
- BA in IT, Computer Science, or similar relevant field
- In-depth knowledge of computer systems and mobile devices
- Hands-on experience with diagnosing and resolving basic technical issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-oriented and patient
Education Requirements, Skills, and Knowledge:
- At least 1-year practical experience in a technical support position or recent technical education experience in a post-secondary environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing & working with the following technologies: Windows 11 & 10, Microsoft Office Suite (2010 & Newer), Windows Server 2008 R2, 2016 R2, 2019, Active Directory, DHCP, Terminal Services, Office 365
