Product Manager

We are seeking a skilled Senior Product Manager to join our Engagement Track at Wattpad. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering, maintaining, and improving best-in-class features and experiences for our readers and writers, while supporting our business growth goals. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including engineering, design, and data to understand user needs and ensure we are meeting our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Product Leadership to build and implement product strategies consistent with our company vision
- Collaborate with our epic team to create, evolve, and maintain the Wattpad reader and writer experience
- Facilitate a strong product discovery process around understanding stakeholder needs, business and user applications, and constantly validating hypotheses
- Work closely with our design and engineering teams to better define, implement, and iterate on solutions together
- Seek to deeply understand how users engage, clearly define and prioritize challenges and opportunities to ensure we are working on the right things at the right time
- Build strong relationships across the company to help solve problems together
- Guide and mentor junior product managers with the goal of enabling them to successfully deliver on their product areas
Requirements:
- At least 4-6 years of professional experience as a Product Manager
- Prior experience in Growth and Engagement is a plus
- Passion for the power of storytelling
- Experience and understanding of technology systems
- Strong product instincts about getting from a user pain point to an underlying problem
- Demonstrate proficiency in problem-solving methodologies, with the capacity to dissect intricate scenarios and identify pivotal issues
- Proven strategic thinking prowess, showcasing the ability to anticipate challenges, assess long-term implications, and devise innovative solutions
- Excellent leadership and communications skills, with experience managing a variety of stakeholders
- Data-driven/analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable tasks and prioritize them and work comfortably in forecasts and revenue predictions
- Natural curiosity with a thirst to validate assumptions with data, insight, and peer discussions to inform yourself better
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Business, or UX Design an asset
