Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Communications Advisor to join our team in the Economic Development & Strategy Department.

As a key member of our communications team, you will lead the strategic administration, implementation, and operation of the City's communications programs under the general direction of the Manager, Economic Development & Strategy.

You will assist with the implementation of policies, strategies, and campaigns to ensure the communication objectives of the City are met.

You will work collaboratively with all departments within the City of Yellowknife to provide support and advice to ensure proper external communication goals are met and processes are followed so that outstanding customer service is achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic administration, implementation, and operation of the City's communications programs
  • Assist with the implementation of policies, strategies, and campaigns to ensure communication objectives are met
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to provide support and advice on external communication goals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Minimum of three years' experience in community engagement within a government or dynamic corporate environment
  • Expert knowledge of best practices in strategic communications planning, public relations, and media relations
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
