Kitchen Assistant

We are a dynamic and customer-focused hospitality company seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, providing exceptional service to our guests, and contributing to the overall success of our business.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Sanitation
- Ensure all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, are clean and sanitized at all times.
- Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
- Food Preparation and Handling
- Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit as required.
- Assist in the preparation of food and beverages for our guests.
- Waste Management
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure all waste is disposed of properly.
- Housekeeping
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Support for Guests with Disabilities
- Participate in awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for guests with disabilities.
- Apply accessible and inclusive recruitment policies to accommodate guests with disabilities.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees
- Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
- Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
- Support social and labor market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
- Support for Youth
- Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
- Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth.
- Support for Veterans
- Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Veterans.
- Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Veterans.
- Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans.
- Support for Indigenous People
- Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
- Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
- Support for Mature Workers
- Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports mature workers.
- Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
- Provide staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
- Support for Visible Minorities
- Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports members of visible minorities.
- Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
- Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
