Senior Estimator and Project Manager Role Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing projects from the initial tender through to final completion. The successful candidate will manage the entire lifecycle of the project, including initiating with the tendering process, preparing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring that all work is executed according to project specifications, scope, and timelines.

You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety while meeting both client and consultant expectations. Your ability to coordinate various parties is crucial to maintaining smooth operations, mitigating risks, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pursue upcoming quoting opportunities, review project specifications in detail, and create accurate cost estimates using SharpeSoft.
  • Manage project budgets and track financial performance, create and submit estimates, tenders, and quotations in a timely manner based on project specifications and drawings.
  • Work closely with Management to schedule, prepare for, and execute awarded projects, have a complete understanding of project specifications related to earthwork, roadwork, sewer and watermain, bridge, and demolition works.
  • Communicate project details and expectations with operations manager and site foremen to ensure project execution as planned, monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in estimating with a record of success preferably in Civil Construction.
  • Appropriate post-secondary education in construction estimation, engineering, or another relevant field.
  • Thorough attention to detail, ability to perform in a high-pressure environment with high accuracy.
  • An ability to be a team player, make a great impression, create and continue great working relationships with Engineering Teams, Customers, Suppliers, Sub Contractors, and Co-Workers.
  • Highly organized self-starter, ability to manage and be accountable for multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, proficient with Microsoft 365, and valid Ontario Driver's License.
Compensation Package
