We are seeking an experienced Senior Indigenous Family Services Team Lead to join our North Okanagan team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about supporting Indigenous children, youth, and families in the community.


Job Summary

The Senior Indigenous Family Services Team Lead will play a vital role in collaborating with community-based organizations to implement child protection and support services in the North Okanagan. This position will supervise and guide a committed team using a strength-based, collaborative approach in mentorship and consultation, as well as supporting the team in providing culturally safe and culturally appropriate services to our Indigenous children, youth, and families.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide a committed team of professionals in providing culturally safe and culturally appropriate services to Indigenous children, youth, and families.
  • Collaborate with community-based organizations to implement child protection and support services in the North Okanagan.
  • Use a strength-based, collaborative approach in mentorship and consultation to support the team in providing high-quality services.
  • Work closely with internal teams, such as Intake, Family Services, Youth Services, Guardianship and Permanency, as well as external community partners.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to Indigenous children, youth, and families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Social Work or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of job-specific work experience, including experience supervising staff.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous culture and the ability to work effectively with Indigenous communities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
