Job Title: Storesperson

Job Summary:

The Storesperson plays a critical role in providing logistic and material support to the Main Operating Base. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts receiving, issuing, shipping, and non-technical inspection of all material, ensuring it is safely stored.
  • Trained, qualified, and authorized to conduct Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
  • Carries out waste product disposal for POL and other items.
  • Conducts stocktaking and completes stocktaking evaluation.
  • Conducts local purchase and sub-contracting with approved vendors.
  • Prepares material transaction vouchers and other logistics documentation.
  • Actions approved amendments to publications, filing, record keeping, and detailed register entries are completed.
  • Completes aircraft maintenance documentation for the electronic record keeping system (ERKS), as applicable to the Stores operation.
  • Flies as necessary in support of maintenance, ferry, and deployed operations.
  • Deploys and works at other main operating bases and/or deploys in support of operations at remote sites, mobile repair parties, and ferry flights.
  • Works shift work, as required and/or assigned.
  • Provides on-job-training to other employees, including task supervision.
  • Attends training for trade and professional development and for qualification/certification purposes.
  • Removes all debris accumulated by tasks performed and maintains a clean, safe work area. Carries out foreign object debris (FOD) inspections.
  • Ensures hangar, shop, stores, and office areas are clean and swept.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of material control and warehousing operations, Stores operations, shelf life, stock taking, shipping, and receiving, HazMat, POL disposal, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
  • Ability to use standard computer systems and specialized computer systems applicable to the Stores operation.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Record Keeping System (ERKS) procedures, as it pertains to Stores.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems.
  • Ability to use standard computer programs and such specialized ones as may be necessary in the performances of assigned duties.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles and tow tractors.
  • Minimum education level of grade 12 or equivalent and related training and experience in material control warehousing.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in material control and warehousing operations is required.
