About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Swine Nutrition Specialist to join our team at Litherland & Co. in Western Canada. As a key member of our Nutrition Team, you will play a crucial role in providing expert swine nutrition support to our clients across Canada.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in animal nutrition, with a focus on swine and poultry. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a passion for agriculture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to our sales team with expertise in swine nutrition, delivering accurate and timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Develop and customize premix formulations, rations, and diets based on customer needs and sales requests.
  • Enhance customer relationships by providing consultative advice on livestock performance, feed formulations, ingredient quality, and production management.
  • Support new product development through customer feedback, market research, and company-administered research trials of innovative new feed and nutrition products.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An M.Sc. focused on Animal Nutrition or Animal Health, with a focus on swine and/or poultry nutrition.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in a technical role focused on swine nutrition.
  • A thorough understanding of swine management in Canada, including livestock health and nutrition, herd health, and marketplace knowledge.
  • Proven experience formulating both premix and complete feed rations, and confidence using feed formulation software programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders in an organization.
