Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair duties related to buildings, grounds, and equipment.

About the Role

This is a critical role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will be in charge of the maintenance function, overseeing the performance of various duties such as recommending renovations, preparing estimates, and monitoring maintenance contracts. You will also be responsible for supervising other staff members and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of duties such as recommending renovations to facilities, preparing estimates of labour and material costs, and monitoring maintenance contract work to ensure adherence to facility requirements.
  • Performs maintenance and repair duties in one or more areas such as electrical and/or painting.
  • Monitors expenditures and makes recommendations regarding budget for assigned area.
  • Oversees and updates standards and procedures for assigned area.
  • Supervises other designated staff by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments, evaluating employee performance, and determining related training and orientation requirements.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of three years' recent experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Grade 10 education or equivalent.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. This includes benefits, pension plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
