About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Control Systems Designer to support engineering roles for oil and gas projects. As an Instrumentation and Control Systems Designer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing instrumentation and control systems for major projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop instrumentation and control systems utilizing AutoCAD 2D and Plant 3D software.
  • Prepare a full range of engineering drawings and documents based on notes, sketches, vendor drawings, and general direction from the design team.
  • Perform 3D modeling of instrumentation, junction boxes, and panels.
  • Develop database-driven Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Perform drafting work via AutoCAD 2D and Plant 3D.
  • Utilize instrumentation design software and instrumentation catalog information in preparation of P&ID, 3D modeling, and other design drawings.
  • Provide instrumentation and control systems support to construction and start-up personnel as required.
Requirements
  • Technical proficiency in use of at least one of the common industry 3D, CAD, and BIM design software packages.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation principles of operation and installation requirements.
  • Experience in large-scale concept-to-design-to-implementation projects.
  • Working knowledge of ISA standards including ISA 5.1 and ISA 5.4.
  • College degree plus five to ten years of progressive drafting/modeling and design experience in the I&C field.
