Job Summary

The Toronto Public Library is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Finance & Treasurer to join its Senior Management team. As the Library's Chief Financial Officer, you will provide executive leadership and oversight of TPL's financial management function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, accurate, clear and complete financial information to the Library Board and City Librarian.
  • Maintain a financial framework of policies, procedures, controls and authorities that manage risk and maintain TPL's financial credibility.
  • Support innovative, efficient and high-quality library service.

Requirements

  • University degree and a professional accounting designation.
  • Senior level experience in a finance management role, preferably in the not-for-profit or public sector.
  • Solid understanding of budget, financial planning, governmental accounting and cost control procedures.
  • Ability to articulate and translate the impacts (financial and other) of key business decisions.
