We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our team at West End Motors (FF) Inc. in Canada.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

This is a permanent position with 80 hours of work per bi-weekly pay period. The ideal candidate will have a secondary school graduation certificate and at least 5 years of experience in the automotive service industry or equivalent experience.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace units;
  • Discuss work with supervisor;
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions;
  • Inspect motor in operation;
  • Review work orders;
  • Test automotive systems and components;
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems;
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components;
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications;
  • Estimate parts and labor cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs;
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service;
  • Test and adjust units to specifications;
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements;
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed;
  • Provide customer service;
Area of Specialization

This role involves working in various areas of engine repair, including electrical and electronic systems, diagnostics, alignment, steering and suspension, hydraulic systems, ignition and electrical systems, automatic transmission, standard transmission, engine repair and overhaul, and drive train components.

The successful candidate must possess excellent written communication skills and be able to accurately document their work.

Personal Suitability

We are looking for individuals who are accurate, dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. A steel-toed safety boot is required for this role.
