Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Chef to join our team at Wing Kei in Calgary. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for leading our food production team and overseeing the preparation, cooking, and distribution of food to our residents and customers.


Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.


About the Role


This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 3 years of proven institutional cooking experience. You must have practical and theoretical knowledge of quantity food production, as well as knowledge of sanitation and safety standards for food services areas.


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Lead the food production team to ensure efficient and high-quality food production
  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and distribution of food to residents and customers
  • Maintain established food rotation in storage to minimize spoilage and waste
  • Perform cleaning duties and maintain kitchen, kitchenettes, and storage areas in an orderly and sanitary manner
  • Train and develop Food Services Aides
  • Communicate effectively with the public, residents, volunteers, and other healthcare team members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements



  • Minimum 3 years of proven institutional cooking experience
  • Certified Food Handler or willing to gain certification within 60 days of commencing employment
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of quantity food production, and knowledge of sanitation and safety standards for food services areas
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
