Job Title: Spiritual Health Practitioner

At the Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a skilled Spiritual Health Practitioner to join our team. This role is responsible for providing spiritual care and support to patients, families, and staff in a compassionate and culturally sensitive manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and respond to the spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff
  • Develop and implement spiritual care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Provide education and training on spiritual care and cultural safety
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance spiritual care services
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as spirituality, psychology, or sociology
  • Supervised clinical experience in a healthcare environment
  • Active membership in a professional organization with a Code of Ethics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience working in a faith-based or culturally diverse environment
  • Training in cultural safety, grief work, and end-of-life care
