About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health, a leading academic healthcare organization in Atlantic Canada, is seeking a Medical Physicist to join its Cancer Care Program at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a key member of the Department of Medical Physics, you will play a vital role in cancer care, collaborating with a dynamic team of oncology and imaging physicists, physicists-in-training, dosimetrists, and other professionals.

Responsibilities will include supporting the clinical service, advancing the department's academic mandate through research and post-graduate training activities, and contributing to treatment planning, quality assurance, and the development of new treatment techniques and protocols. You will also have a faculty appointment in the Dalhousie University Department of Radiation Oncology, providing teaching and supervision in CAMPEP-accredited graduate programs in medical physics.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of funded research in radiation oncology physics, with a doctoral degree in Medical Physics or Physics with specialization in Medical Physics, and certification by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (MCCPM) or the American Board of Radiology (DABR). Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Hours and Compensation
  • Permanent, Full Time; 75 hours bi-weekly
