Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at GFL Environmental. The ideal candidate will have experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing repairs and preventive maintenance services on heavy equipment
  • Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
  • Utilizing vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs
  • Estimating time and material costs on vehicle repairs
  • Performing service calls for emergency breakdowns
  • Conducting safety checks on all vehicles and equipment
  • Completing required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A valid 310T Truck and Coach License
  • A valid "G" driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work
  • Your own tools
  • Experience with welding (an asset)
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team
