Data Center Infrastructure Architect Lead

We are currently seeking an accomplished IT Infrastructure Architect to join our team at Chrome Technologies. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the company's infrastructure strategy, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across both IT and OT architectures.

As an IT Infrastructure Architect, you will be responsible for designing and managing both IT and OT architectures, understanding the unique requirements and considerations of each, and ensuring seamless integration and functionality across both domains.

Responsibilities
  1. Architecture Design and Development: Provide project/operations specific architectural and comprehensive technology designs, solutions, and implementation plans for Data Center Team.
  2. Solution Evaluation and Optimization: Review and evaluate solutions and develop optimized infrastructure designs based on rigorous understanding of returned benefits and impact on Business or IT.
  3. Security by Design: Ensure the architecture is designed with 'Security by Design' principles, including the incorporation of security controls and measures at the design phase, to mitigate potential risks and threats.
  4. Technology Selection: Review and help in choosing the right technology for the context.
  5. Tech Evaluation and Validation: Evaluate entire projects from a technical stance, guaranteeing that the methods and technologies used are practical, correct, and fit for purpose.
  6. Validation and Challenge: Validate and challenge the detailed technical infrastructure architectures provided by technology partners, team members, and vendors in support of a project or Operation technical solution.
  7. Project Transition: Assist in the transition of the project to Operations.
  8. Escalation Point: Act as a final path of escalation within their area of expertise for any Data Center architecture.
  9. Emerging Technology Analysis: Investigate the viability of upcoming and emerging technologies to improve the infrastructure's stability, longevity, and adaptability.
  10. Architecture Review and Compliance: Participate in architecture reviews and/or audits. Secure Infrastructure architecture compliance.
  11. IT Strategy Support: Support overall IT strategy with the relevant Infrastructure architecture.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
  2. Experience: 10+ years of total experience in IT with relevant technologies.
  3. Data Center Experience: 5+ years of experience in the analysis and understanding of the Infrastructure related to Data Center, hardware, and systems including servers, network, security, storage, and compute for traditional, hybrid, or cloud Data Centers.
  4. Virtualization Experience: 7+ years of experience in deploying and managing virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, etc.).
  5. IT Leadership Experience: 5+ years of experience in various IT roles and environments up to and including technical or IT team leadership positions.
  6. Cloud Experience: 5+ years of experience with cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS & SaaS), automation, orchestration, cost frameworks, trends, and Industry-leading private/public/hybrid cloud vendor offerings and interoperability.
  7. High Demand Environment Experience: 5+ years of experience in high demand, low fault tolerance environments.
  8. Technical Expertise: 5+ years of experience in a technical infrastructure design role and demonstration of subject expertise.

  1. Language Skills: Must possess excellent written and verbal presentation skills in English (French is a big plus).
  2. Technical Knowledge: Demonstrate strong applied knowledge of layered architectures, virtualized environments, security, monitoring, and high availability systems.
  3. Self-Motivation: Must be self-motivated.
  4. Business Acumen: Strong ability to learn business rules and comply with both existing and new requirements.
  5. Multitasking: Must be able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Industry Knowledge: Good knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices (e.g., ITIL).

Working Conditions

Employee may experience progressive degrees of changing factors in the work process (changing work priorities, deadlines, accuracy, quotas, conflicting demands). Employee will be required to wear protective eyewear, appropriate gloves, hearing protection, respiratory protection, safety shoes, hard hat, and/or other during IT visits to the Warehouses or Plants.

Travel

Employee will be required to travel less than 10% of the time; Employee may need to occasionally visit other locations.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
