Are you a skilled storyteller looking to make a difference in the lives of Canadians?

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking an experienced Reporter/Editor for our Charlottetown station.

In this role, you will be responsible for producing engaging articles and stories focusing on P.E.I. news for our French-speaking audiences.

You will work under the supervision of the Assignment Producer and report to the Senior Manager, News and Programming, for Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador.

This position requires strong editorial judgment, news sense, and the ability to find original, compelling stories in the public interest.

We are looking for a creative and resourceful individual with excellent command of French and good knowledge of English.

The ideal candidate will have a university education in journalism, communications or a related field and three years' directly related experience in TV/radio broadcasting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Filing stories and delivering live hits
  • Strong interviewing, writing and narration skills
  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada's mandate and its Journalistic Standards and Practices
  • Knowledge of social, political, cultural and economic life in Atlantic Canada

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience.

This is a full-time position based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
