At Plains, we are seeking a highly motivated Risk Analyst to join our Risk Reporting team for a term of approximately 12 months. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven role in a demanding and ever-changing market, which is constantly being shaped by regulatory and economic tides.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring adherence to energy risk management policies/procedures, metrics, and limits to identify errors and exceptions, while ensuring compliance and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Maintaining risk and portfolio models.
  • Working closely with marketers, traders, and senior management to educate, analyze, and accurately report critical information to the executive team on the company's risk position.
  • Monitoring overall position limits, volumes, pricing, and approvals.
  • Preparing and communicating daily, weekly, and monthly risk reporting for management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in risk, finance, or economics required.
  • 2–3 years' previous risk management experience, preferably in the oil/energy industry.
  • Experience in risk analysis, modelling, and risk quantification methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability and willingness to go above and beyond to achieve group goals and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience with an ETRM system is preferred.
  • Cleared criminal history (background), education, and satisfactory reference checks.
