About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at Ottawa Finish Carpentry Inc. As a Finish Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring that all carpentry work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints

You will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure that all carpentry work is completed in accordance with building codes and regulations.

Prepare and Install Carpentry Work

You will be responsible for preparing and installing all carpentry work, including measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Schedule and Coordinate Work

You will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating work on sites, including instructing apprentices and ensuring that all work is completed on time and to the highest standards of quality.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role. However, you must have at least 3 years of experience in the field of carpentry.

Work Environment

You will be working in a noisy and dusty environment, and you must be able to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.

Equipment and Machinery Experience

You must have experience with hand tools and be able to operate them safely and efficiently.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

You must be able to bend, crouch, and kneel, and you must be able to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.

Own Tools and Equipment

You must have your own tools and equipment, including steel-toed safety boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles.
