We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Bkz Reno's Inc. in Canada.

The estimated salary for this role is around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

About the Role

This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week with opportunities for overtime. We require a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and less than 7 months of experience in construction operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials using heavy equipment such as cranes and bulldozers.
  • Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements, including assembly and disassembly of concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • Clean and lubricate cranes to maintain their condition and performance.
  • Erect and dismantle towers on site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on proper equipment operation and safety procedures.
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials like concrete and asphalt, adhering to project specifications.
  • Assemble tower cranes on site, requiring precision and attention to detail.
  • Assist medical examiners and help align pipes during pipeline construction.
  • Participate in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, wearing appropriate protective gear.
  • Help frame houses, erect walls, and build roofs, ensuring structural integrity.
  • Operate offshore oil rig cranes to unload and reload supply vessels.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications, maintaining accuracy and precision.
  • Operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move, and place equipment and materials.
  • Pave and rake asphalt, following project timelines.
  • Assist in demolishing buildings, taking necessary precautions for safety.
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials, reusing them whenever possible.
  • Perform routine maintenance work, ensuring equipment remains in good condition.
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, adhering to environmental regulations.
  • Remove rubble and debris from construction sites, keeping the area tidy.
  • Tend or feed machines used in construction, maintaining optimal performance.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites, ensuring public safety.
