We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Care Professional to join our team at BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services in Coquitlam, BC.

About the Job:

This casual opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse who is passionate about providing nursing care to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct health care services to clients presenting with various acute and chronic illnesses/diseases, including communicable diseases, addictions, mental health issues, and general health concerns.
  • Perform physical, addiction, and psychiatric assessments, referring clients to physicians as necessary and administering prescribed treatments and medications.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document client progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes, performing a range of health care interventions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, clients, family members, and community stakeholders to provide comprehensive care.

Requirements:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Two years' recent experience in acute or community health nursing, providing care to clients with concurrent psychiatric and/or substance abuse/misuse disorders.
