Our client, a leading independent insurance brokerage, is seeking an experienced Commercial Account Manager to join their team. With over 50 years of servicing the Canadian market, they offer a unique opportunity for a knowledgeable expert advisor in Commercial Insurance lines of business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a book of business, servicing clients in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner, and assisting the producer in obtaining, maintaining, and growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a renewal book of business
  2. Work closely with Producers and other staff members on all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewal while following best practices and procedures
  3. Initiate Account Planning with Producer in advance of the renewal
  4. Maintain high retention rate on your book of business
  5. Coordinate, support plans, discuss arising issues, and create comprehensive plans for existing clients
  6. Develop new business from existing accounts and assigned leads
  7. Identify cross-selling opportunities when appropriate
  8. Prepare proposals for prospect and stewardship reviews for existing clients
  9. Manage account documentation (routine inquiries, quotes, binders, statement of values, insurance contracts, endorsements, cancellations, etc.)
  10. Review client's current coverage and exposures, loss experience, and analyze risk to determine product/service requirements
  11. Maintain up-to-date workflow documentation and ensure workflows are followed
  12. Actively develop an increased knowledge of related insurance products
  13. Participate in and/or conduct client meetings when necessary
  14. Participate in training and professional development courses to enhance skills and industry knowledge

Requirements:

  1. This is a hybrid position; must be able to work from Mississauga office 3 days per week
  2. 10 years of experience as a broker with 5 years working on large commercial accounts
  3. Solid understanding of policy wordings/coverages
  4. Ability to mentor others and proven negotiation skills
  5. RIBO License is required
  6. Strong attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  7. Ability to be a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills

Compensation:

  1. Annual salary of $100,000 - $120,000 based on experience
