Fusion Pharmaceuticals is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing precision medicines. Our innovative approach connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to targeting molecules, selectively delivering payloads to tumors.
We are seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Research Associate to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This lab-based position offers the opportunity to contribute to preclinical drug development activities and advance our pipeline of radioconjugates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and report on therapeutic efficacy and biodistribution studies using rodent models of cancer or other disease indications
- Maintain rodent cohorts, establish tumour xenografts, and administer test articles by various routes, including injection and oral gavage
- Perform mammalian cell culture in support of biology group activities
- Document experimental procedures and results in an electronic notebook system
- Assist in laboratory maintenance, animal facilities, and equipment upkeep
- Record and manage laboratory documentation, including SOPs, SDS, chemical, radioisotope, biohazard, and cell bank information
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Recognized post-secondary education in health or veterinary sciences
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Health Sciences, Animal Sciences, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Greater than 2 years of experience in laboratory animal experimentation, animal care, and operations
- CALAS certification an asset
- Expertise in administering test articles to rodents by intravenous injection and gavage required
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and biochemical methods (e.g., protein quantification, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting, UV/VIS spectroscopy) and cell biological methods (e.g., flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry) an asset
- Highly organized with proven ability to work independently, strong communication skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, handle radioactive and biohazardous materials/waste safely, and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
