Accounting Technician Job Description

At SMOKE AVENUE, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our team. As an Accounting Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing cheques for payroll, maintaining financial records, and establishing and balancing various accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Accounting Tasks: Prepare cheques for payroll, post journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports, including trial balances and tax returns.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in accounting software, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows, MS Word, Quick Books, and TaxPrep.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, organized, reliability, and time management.
Work Environment:

Our office is located in a convenient location with public transportation available. The work environment is fast-paced, and overtime may be required. We offer free parking and a permanent work term.
